Do you need to improve your workflows?

During the day I spend my time working with an incredible piece of software. I have spent 16 years in the Information Technology space. I have worked with large companies such as Adobe Systems, Symantec and HP down to many small companies as an onsite consultant. One thing they all had in common was the need for tracking systems.

During my career I worked with a lot of different applications for issue tracking, IT Helpdesk and Call Center software. I think I lost more hair trying to figure out how to take what I wanted and make it work than how the software thought it should. In smaller company’s it was even worse. The software was too expensive and incredibly hard to work with.

One of my former employers’ who is a good friend called me up a little over 4 years ago and wanted to see if I wanted to work with a company that developed a workflow and issue tracking system. He demonstrated the software to me and I was sold. All the issues I had with issue tracking software were resolved. That was only the beginning of what it could do. I accepted the position at ExtraView and six months later we started its 5-free program, giving a five user licenses of Enterprise class software to all businesses in a hosted environment.

Over the last 4 years I have watched as the application grew to meet more and more business needs and the administration of the product grow more streamlined. I have helped develop solutions as varied as Documentation Management, Bug Tracking, It Helpdesks and external customer support call center applications. Today, any company whether big or small has processes that have workflow. So a good question is what is workflow and what does ExtraView help with. Workflow can be defined as a process. Processes need to be tracked. It has a beginning; (My email isn’t working) it has steps that needs to be done; (Check the server- check the end user configuration, go to the user desktop) a resolution for each step; (The end user changed the setup) All along the way it is possible one person did all the work or many. At the end of the month management wants to know what’s happening. So how do we report on the process? What metrics do we need? ExtraView has a system that handles each part of this process regardless of the process including who and what is being done, extensive reporting all along the way plus notifications including escalation for issues that aren’t resolved in a timely manner.  Check it out today: ExtraView
