Chiropractors are specialists in correcting subluxation and other misalignments. Subluxation is a term used to describe what happens when one of the vertebrae in your spine moves out of position. When this happens, the misaligned vertebra creates pressure and stress on the spinal nerves, blood vessels, and surrounding muscles. This pressure and stress can cause an imbalance in the body's normal processes as the nerves in the spinal column extend to the entire body and its organs. A chiropractor can restore the misaligned vertebrae to their proper position in the spinal column. They do this manually by using the chiropractic procedure known as spinal adjustment.

This instrument uses the principles of percussion force. As the patient lies on one side, the doctor places the tip of the instrument below the patient's earlobe, barely touching the skin. The benefits from seeing Dr. Stakes is that stiffness in my back has been managed, the impact of the damage I did as a result of a fall has greatly been reduced. It's well worth seeing Dr. Stakes if you are physically hurting. Plus, it's also a good health maintenance approach. I used to get a very stiff back that made it difficult to walk- that does not occur now. We get a much higher degree of "well-being" if something is wrong.

I was so relieved to find Dr. Stakes here in Austin because I had been going to a chiropractor in another state for years that used the same modalities Dr. Stakes uses. I was able to have my old chiropractor fax my info into Dr. Stakes office and they got me in right away. Occasionally my neck will 'go out' from a variety of activites and I end up with a headache and lower back pain. Dr. Stakes realigns my spine which gives me relief from the pain. His staff is knowledgeable, friendly and really enjoy helping. I highly recommend his services!
